Donald Trump said Sunday that he will not sell his business to avoid conflicts of interest during his presidency. Instead, he will allow his children to run the business – an idea which has come under fire because it doesn’t alleviate any conflicts.

“My executives will run it with my children. It’s a big company. It’s a great company. But I’m going to have nothing to do with management,” Trump told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday.
Trump had recently suggested that he would take steps to separate himself from his business and that he would announce the details of at a major press conference this coming Thursday. But Trump’s statements on Sunday indicate that nothing has changed and that he has no intention of selling his business and putting his assets into a blind trust – the only true way to alleviate a conflict of interest.
Without a full divestment, there is no way to set up a blind trust. Trump’s children and executives will be a magnet for improper influence.
