Pentagon press secretary said, “Through direct engagement with Chinese authorities, we have secured an understanding that the Chinese will return the U.U.V. to the United States.” Mr. Cook said the deal had been reached after the United States “registered our objection to China’s unlawful seizure of a U.S. unmanned underwater vehicle operating in international waters in the South China Sea.”
The incident highlights the obivious differences between President Obama and his successor Donald Trump. While Trump fired off typo-riddled tweets, Presidently chose to approach the incedent diplomatically and resolved it within about 24 hours.

The Chinese told American officials that they would be returning the drone, but the two governments were still working out the details of where, when and how the device would be handed back, according to Defense Department officials.
The announcement from the Pentagon came hours after China warned that the highly charged episode would not be resolved easily.
