Fox News has settled Bill O’Reilly sexual harassment case
Fox News has settled a sexual harassment case against it’s highest profile anchor Bill O’Reilly several news outlets are reporting. It has been reported that the case was settled in the days just following Roger Ailes’ departure from Fox News last summer. Ailes faced a slew of sexual harassment charges from former colleagues.
Juliet Huddy who was a former on-air personality at Fox News alleged that Bill O’Reilly “pursued a sexual relationship with her” in 2011, according to a letter from her lawyers obtained by The New York Times.
The settlement was first reported by Lawnewz.com on Monday.
According to the letter, “When she rebuffed his advances, he tried to derail her career. He invited her to his house on Long Island, tried to kiss her, took her to dinner and the theater, and after asking her to return a key to his hotel room, appeared at the door in his boxer shorts.”

The Huffington Post reports that Fox News co-president Jack Abernethy also reportedly sought retaliation against Juliet Huddy for not wanting a relationship with him. And according to the New York Times Huddy was offered a “high six figures” settlement in order to stay quiet.
And New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman on Tuesday Tweeted that there may have been several secret sexual harassment settlements at Fox News.

Fox News has long history of sexual harassment scandals
The former chairman of Fox News Roger Ailes left the network after a series sexual harassment scandals that unfolded over several months. And 21st Century Fox reportedly reached a $20 million settlement with its former anchor Gretchen Carlson after she accused Ailes of sexual harassment last July. Several more women then came forward with very similar stories including Fox’s star anchor Megyn Kelly. Kelly has since announced that she will be leaving Fox News to join NBC News.
