Barack Obama’s approval rating hits 60 percent just as he leaves office
According to two new polls, Barack Obama is leaving office with a 60% approval rating. The two newly released polls ( CNN/ORC and The Washington Post/ABC News) confirm what other polls have shown recently, which is that President Obama is going leave office as one of the most popular presidents in the modern era.
In fact, the newer polls showBarack Obama’s favorability rating is higher than a few polls released earlier in the week. This week Gallup released a new poll showing Obama at a 57 percent approval rating, and both Monmouth University and NBC News/Wall Street Journal reported 56 percent approval.
And Rasmussen actually gives Obama the highest approval rating showing president Obama at 62 percent approval.
Barack Obama’s approval rating has continued to rise since early 2016, however, we have seen his favorability numbers rise even faster since the November election.
The polls show that Obama’s favorability increases are in part due to Republicans who have increasingly shifted opinions about the president.
