And now, in the final days of the of the open enrollment season, the Trump administration has halted advertising and outreach for Obamacare.
Even the advertising that President Obama’s administration already placed and paid for have been pulled, according to Politico. citing sources at the Department of Health and Human Services and on Capitol Hill. The White House has also reportedly halted media outreach promoting enrollment, including emails sent to visitors to HealthCare.gov.

Let’s be clear about what this is. Donald Trump is trying to sabotage Obamacare sign ups so that he can claim it is not working and convince people we need to repeal it.
Obamacare open enrollment for 2017 ends next week on Jan. 31.
The last days of the open enrollment period are “seen as critical,” according to Politico’s report. This is because the last-minute surge in sign-ups by individuals who tend procrastinate on enrollment, particularly younger and healthier customers.
According to a quote from Politico, “Kevin Counihan, who oversaw HealthCare.gov for the Obama administration, predicted the move would have a measurable impact on enrollment. ‘Jan. 31 is a huge period,’ said Counihan. ‘It will clearly have a material impact.'”
