Another Racist Joins Trump White House
The South Carolina staffer from Donald Trump’s presidential campaign who shared racist social media posts during the election will be joining Department of Education, according to a report from the Huffington Post.
Teresa UnRue was a field organizer and graphic designer for Trump’s presidential campaign. Her name was included on an emailed list of new employees sent by acting secretary for the department Phil Rosenfelt.
Huffington Post obtained a copy of the email, which did not specify what role UnRue will take at the department.
The Associated Press reported in a July review of Trump staffers’ social media accounts that UnRue shared a video on social media of a black man eating fried chicken while berating other black people.
“Why are you mad about slavery?” he asks. “Y’all weren’t no damn slaves.”
“Had me crack’n up!! Thank you!” UnRue wrote in an accompanying comment. “Please share this with people.”
She also posted on social media calling then-President Barack Obama a “terrorist” or charged that he should be arrested for “murder and treason.”
The AP also found that UnRue posted a link to a website that alleged Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was assassinated by the government. Scalia died last year of a heart attack.
