REPORT: Donald Trump Paid Himself $12 Million With Campaign Funds
The final campaign finance reports are in and we now know exactly how much money Donald Trump paid himself with all the money he took in from all his campaign donors and hat buyers.
According to a report in the Washington Post, Donald Trump paid his businesses more than $12 million using his campaign funds. And when you add in the money that the Republican National Committee paid Trump businesses the total comes to over $14 million. The money went to renting office space, hotels, catering, airfare etc.
All of these things are regular campaign expenses. The thing that is completely irregular is that Trump took campaign donor money and paid himself to provide those services.
When Donald J. Trump said he would self-fund he meant that he would pay himself from the campaign.
And the profiting didn’t stop after the election, in December alone, Trump Tower received more than $130,000 for rent. And Trump International Hotel in Washington received more than $111,000 from the Republican National Committee for “venue rental and catering.”
Overall in the month of December, after the damn election ended, the Trump campaign and Republican Party spent more than $413,000 on Trump properties.
