Republican’s don’t seem to think that Mexico will pay for Donald Trump’s wall.
In fact, Senator John McCain in an interview said it’s “not a viable option.”
McCain said, “If you only build a wall, only a ‘wall,’ without using technology, individuals, drones, observations, etc., you’re not going to secure the border.”
And John McCain isn’t the only Republican casting doubt about Trump’s wall.
Senator John Cornyn told CNN that he is concerned about “spending un-offset money, which adds to the debt, period.”
He continued, “I don’t think we’re just going to be able to solve border security with a physical barrier because people can come under, around it and through it.”
Senator Orrin Hatch has also said that he has questions about Trump’s plan to include a tariff on imports from Mexico to pay for the wall. “We don’t have definitive answers to any of those questions at this particular point, and without them, I don’t think I can give definitive positions on the proposal,” Hatch said.
