Gallup: Trump Disapproval At New High
According to Gallup, disapproval of Donald Trump’s performance as president has reached a new high. The poll, which averaged results over the previous three days, found that 54 percent of respondents disapproved of Trump’s performance in office. And only 42 percent approved of Trump’s job performance.
On January 22, two days after his inauguration, the same poll found that respondents were split 45-45 percent on Trump’s performance.
During Trump’s first week in office, his net approval rating in the Gallup poll dropped 8 points. The gap between approval and disapproval – a 12-point spread – has never been higher for Trump than what the poll currently reflects.
The Gallup poll is based on telephone interviews with approximately 1,500 national adults, according to the company. The poll’s margin of error is 3 percentage points.
