Trump Had An Economic Question, So He Called His National Security Adviser At 3 AM
In the course of presidential politics we’ve heard a lot about 3 AM phone calls, but usually, it’s the president who is being woken up by a 3 AM phone call, not the other way around.
But Donald Trump is a very different kind of president.
The Huffington Post is reporting that Donald Trump was wondering whether it would be better for the United States to have a strong dollar or a weak dollar.
And what did he do with this pressing economic question? He decided to call his national security adviser at 3 AM.
During the call, Trump asked Mike Flynn whether a strong dollar was good or bad for the US economy.
And, according to the Huffington Post, “Flynn has a long record in counterintelligence but not in macroeconomics. And he told Trump he didn’t know, that it wasn’t his area of expertise, that, perhaps, Trump should ask an economist instead.”
Apparently, Donald Trump was not thrilled with that answer.
