Republican Strategist: Donald Trump’s Incompetence Is Unprecedented
Republican strategist Steve Schmidt said in an interview with the Washington Post that the incompetence of the Trump administration is unprecedented. “None of this is normal,” said Schmidt. “The incompetence, the sloppiness and the leaking is unprecedented.”
According the Post, Steve Schmidt, who is a veteran of the George W. Bush White House as well as the presidential campaign of John McCain, “has been highly critical of Trump and ticked through controversies that included false White House statements and the administration’s halted travel ban targeting seven majority-Muslim countries.”
The statements from Schmidt were part of a larger Washington Post report on the chaos that is going on in the Trump White House. The Post piece said, “Trump — distracted by political brushfires, often of his own making — has failed to fill such key posts as White House communications director, while sub-Cabinet positions across agencies and scores of ambassadorships around the globe still sit empty.”
