BREAKING: Senate Republicans Urge Trump To Withdraw Pudzer As Labor Nomination
CNN is reporting that top Senate Republicans are calling for Donald Trump to withdraw Andrew Puzder’s nomination for Labor secretary.
According to the report, there are at least four Republican senators who are planning to vote against Puzder. But that number could actually be as many as 12, according to the CNN source.
Republicans have a 52-seat majority in the Senate, meaning that any Trump nominee will fail if they lose three or more Republican votes – assuming Democrats all vote against.
The Senate is planning to hold Pudzer’s hearing this week. Pudzer has become the Democrats top target to block a Trump nominee after failing to block Betsy DeVos.

According to CNN, “Puzder, the CEO of the company that owns the Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. fast food chains, has faced fierce opposition mostly from Democrats in part related to his position on labor issues as well as the fact that he employed an undocumented housekeeper.”
