WATCH: Seth Meyers Slams Trump’s Cruel And Unnecessary Immigration Plan
On Wednesday’s episode of Late Night, Seth Meyers used his “A Closer Look” segment to slam Donald Trump’s cruel and unnecessary immigration plan.
Meyers noted that there has been a net loss of illegal immigrants over the last several years, saying “there’s hardly an immigration crime wave in this country.”
“That’s right, America has turned into a bad movie and people are walking out,” Meyers joked. But Trump disputes that fact, suggesting that “nobody knows” how many undocumented immigrants there are in the country.
Meyers also poked fun of the fact that Trump has suggested that “nobody knows” how many undocumented immigrants there are in the country.
“We do know what the number is,” Meyers said. “Just because you don’t know, doesn’t mean no one knows.”
Meyers also said about Trump’s plan, “So Trump wants to spend as much as $20 billion on a wall that even some Republicans think won’t work, but don’t worry, Trump adviser Stephen Miller said there’s no need to worry about who will pay for the wall.” Meyers added while showing a clip of Miller claiming the wall will “pay for itself many, many, many times over.”
“I know what you’re thinking,” Meyers said, “I thought Mexico was going to pay for the wall.”
