Trump Claims Obama Wiretapped Phone, Provides No Proof

It looks like Trump was having another uncomfortable bowel movement, because he took to Twitter early this morning to accuse former President Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower.

Of course, Trump provided no real evidence and according to the New York Times, his aides “declined to clarify whether the president’s explosive allegations were based on briefings from intelligence or law enforcement officials, or on something else, like a news report.”

The Times breaks down how difficult it would be for Obama to order a wiretap on Trump. If there was a warrant to allow for wiretapping, Trump could be in bigger trouble than he thinks. It means there was sufficient evidence to convince a judge to issue a warrant.

“It would be difficult for federal agents, working within the law, to obtain a wiretap order to target Mr. Trump’s phone conversations. That would mean the Justice Department had gathered sufficient evidence to persuade a federal judge that there was probable cause to believe that he had committed a serious crime or was an agent of a foreign power, depending on whether it was a criminal or foreign intelligence wiretap.”

The only evidence that can be found about this accusation? A Brietbart article reporting on Mark Levin’s radio show.

The radio show alleged a series of “known steps taken by President Barack Obama’s administration in its last months to undermine Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and, later, his new administration.”

Also, a note for you Mr. President, a president isn’t able to order a wiretap. It would require the Justice Department or a law enforcement agency or a intelligence agency to get a warrant from a judge.
