Trump Campaign Approved Carter Page Russia Trip
The evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 election interference continues to mount.
On Tuesday, a report in USA Today confirmed that the Trump campaign approved Carter Page’s July trip to Moscow during the campaign.
Page confirmed that he was given permission by the campaign to travel to Russia saying “I’m confirming that information.”
According to the USA Today piece, “Page confirmed he asked the campaign for permission in June before making the trip to Moscow and campaign management cleared him to do so, as long as he acted as a private citizen and not a representative of the campaign. Page declined to publicly name the person.”
And according to a Politico piece on the same subject, “Page then emailed Lewandowski and spokeswoman Hope Hicks asking for formal approval, and was told by Lewandowski that he could make the trip, but not as an official representative of the campaign, the former campaign adviser said.”
