How Republican Senators Are Reacting TO CBO Analysis
The Congressional Budget Office released their report on the Republican health plan analysis and it’s safe to say that it has shaken Washington D.C.
The CBO determined that 14 million people will lose their health insurance by 2018. And by 2026, that number climbs to 24 million fewer people insured. Democrats have come out strongly after the CBO analysis slamming Republicans for proposing such a disastrous plan.
Reactions are starting to trickle in from Senate Republicans and so far it’s not good news for Donald Trump and Paul Ryan. It’s important to remember that Republicans can’t afford to lose more than two Republican votes in the Senate.
Here is what Republican Senators have said so far:
Lindsey Graham: “At the end of the day we should pause and try to improve the product in the light of the CBO analysis rather than just rejecting it,” Graham told reporters.
John McCain: “I’m concerned more …about what the House bill will do to Arizona especially since they expanded Medicaid,” McCain said.
Susan Collins: “It should prompt the House to slow down and reconsider certain provisions of the bill,” Collins said in a statement. “We need to spend the time necessary to get this right.”
Roy Blunt: “The bill’s likely to change in the House and again in the Senate.”
