‘Thousands Of Americans Will Die,’ Sanders On CBO Analysis Of Republican Plan
Senator Sanders responded on Monday to the analysis from the Congressional Budget Office that 24 million people will be uninsured under the Republican health plan.
Senator Sanders said that “thousands of Americans will die” under the House Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare.
“If this legislation is passed and millions of people are thrown off health insurance…thousands of Americans will die,” Sanders told reporters.
The comments from Sanders came after the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office analysis of the House bill found that by 2026, 24 million people additional people will be uninsured compared to under to if Obamacare were to remain in place.
Sanders also said, “I think that legislation is disgusting. It is immoral.”
“It must defeated and I hope there is enough sense amongst some of the Republicans.”
