White House Own Analysis Finds Even Worse Loses Than CBO Did
In today’s edition of YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, a new report from Politico notes that the Trump White House’s own analysis of the Republican health care plan found that even more people would lose health insurance than the CBO report did.
The White House report found that 26 million people would lose coverage over the next decade under the GOP’s health care plan, compared to the 24 million that CBO noted.
The White House analysis also noted that by 2026 there would be a total of 54 million people in the United States without health insurance.
Here is how the losses would breakdown:
- 17 million fewer uninsured by Medicaid
- 6 million fewer insured by the individual market
- And even 3 million fewer people covered by employer-based plans
The White House sent out HHS Secretary Tom Price to say, “We disagree strenuously with the report that was put out.” Which leaves us to wonder – is that because the Trump administration numbers are even worse?
