DNC: Trump’s Quick Release Of 2005 Taxes Proves ‘Audit Excuse Is A Sham’
On Tuesday evening, the Democratic National Committee blasted Donald Trump for his longstanding claim that he can’t release his taxes because he is under audit. However, after MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow announced that they had acquired a copy of Trump’s 2005 tax return, the White House quickly moved to pre-release the two page tax from before the story aired on MSNBC.
The Democratic National Committee aggressively slammed Trump for the hypocrisy.
“The White House’s willingness to release some tax information when it suits them proves Donald Trump’s audit excuse is a sham,” the DNC said in a statement.
“If they can release some of his information, they can release all of the information. The only reason not to release his returns is to hide what’s in them such as financial connections with Russian oligarchs and the Kremlin.”
The DNC statement comes after MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow released Donald Trump’s 2005 tax returns.
