Trump Administration Asks Congress For More Time On Wiretapping Evidence
It looks like the Trump team forgot to do their homework and now they are begging the teacher for an extension.
The Justice Department late on Monday asked the House Intelligence Committee for more time to turn over any evidence related to Trump’s unproven wiretapping accusation.
The House Intel Committee had given the Trump administration a Monday deadline to provide any evidence they might have. But at the last minute a Department of Justice spokesperson said they need more time to “review the request in compliance with the governing legal authorities and to determine what if any responsive documents may exist.”
The request for an extension the last minute indicates what most credible news organizations have already noted, which is that the there is no evidence to back up Trump’s claim that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower.
