POLL: 2/3 Americans Think There Should Be Path to Legal Citizenship for Undocumented
In a new CNN/ORG survey, 60 percent of Americans say a pathway for legal residency should be the government’s immigration priority.
Pollsters report 58 percent worry deportation efforts will go too far by deporting people who have not committed serious crime.
Then to top it all off, 27 percent said the government should deport all illegal immigrants, while by 71 percent disagree.
Trump’s proposed budget asks Congress for $1.5 billion this year to begin construction on a wall that most Americans don’t want. And then cuts money from programs that help all Americans – especially the ones who voted for him.
CNN/ORC conducted its survey of 1,025 U.S. adults via cellphone and landline telephone interviews from March 1 to 4. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
