NY Attorney Reportedly Probed HHS Secretary Price Investments Before His Firing
Before the Trump administration fired Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, he was investigating Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.
First reported by ProPublica, Bharara’s probe concerned the legitimacy of Price’s investments in biotech companies.
Price had admitted that he had traded stock in health-related companies while co-sponsoring healthcare legislation in Congress during his confirmation hearing. Democrats accused Price of using his congressional office to benefit himself, though the former lawmaker insisted that the trades were proper and legal.
However, now that Bharara has been fired from his position, and the Trump administration will most likely replace him with a Trump lap dog, Price’s investments may not be properly investigated. Well, what’s one more corrupt, scandal-ridden Trump crony to keep his job?
