FBI, NSA Directors Knocks Down Trump’s Baseless Obama Wiretap Accusation
FBI Director Comey on Monday confirmed that both the FBI and Department of Justice have “no information that supports” Donald Trump’s accusation of wiretapping of Trump Tower by the Obama administration.
NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers also confirmed that his agency has no information that backs up Trump’s accusations.
The Directors of the FBI and NSA join the leaders of both parties in the House and Senate as well as the chair and ranking members in both Intel committees in confirming that Trump’s accusation about Barack Obama was not true.
“We have no information to support” Donald Trump’s accusation on Twitter that President Barack Obama tapped Trump Tower.
“We have no information to support those tweets,” Mr. Comey said, repeated moments later, “All I can tell you is that we have no information that supports them.”
“I’ve seen nothing on the N.S.A. side that we engaged in such activity nor that anyone engaged in such activity,” Admiral Rogers also confirmed.
The NSA Director also confirmed that the Obama Administration did not ask the British Intelligence to spy on Donald Trump.
