Trump Approval Rating Dropping Among Republicans, Whites, Men
Multiple polls have already found that Donald Trump has record low approval ratings for a new president. But a new poll released Wednesday found that Trump is losing support among key groups that had previously been strong supporters including Republicans, whites and men.
The new Quinnipiac University poll found that Donald Trump has a job approval rating of just 37 percent. And 56 percent of respondents disapprove of the job the president is doing.
That is a 4 point drop from the same poll from two weeks prior when Trump’s approval rating was 41 percent.
Here are the drops in key groups of Trump’s supporters:
- 6 point drop in approval among men from 49 percent down to 43 percent
- 11 point drop in approval among Republicans from 91 percent to 80 percent
- 5 point drop in approval among white voters from 49 percent to 44 percent
The same poll also found 60 percent of voters don’t the Donald Trump is honest and 55 percent don’t think Trump has good leadership skills.
The poll was in the field from March 16 to 21 and surveyed 1,056 voters. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
