House Republicans Cancel Vote On Disastrous Health Bill

BREAKING… Republicans in the House have canceled their planned Thursday vote because they lacked the votes to pass the bill.

MSNBC News reported a few minutes ago that they have hear from multiple sources that the planned vote has been canceled. CNN is also reporting the vote has been canceled.

The Republican health plan was almost universally criticized after the Congressional Budget Office report revealed that at least 24 million people would lose their health insurance under the Republican plan.

A House Republican conference meeting is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday. Reports are indicating that Republicans will try again on Monday.

The cancelation of the vote represents a big failure for both Donald Trump and Paul Ryan who invested tremendous time and energy in the poorly received health bill.

Just an hour before news of the cancelation, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer tried to put a positive spin on the situation. “We continue to see the number go up, not down, and that’s a very positive sign,” Spicer said.

Earlier in the day Thursday a new Quinnipiac University poll found that only 17 percent of voters support the Republican health bill.
