Chuck Schumer Demands Nunes Be Replaced As Chair Of Intel Committee

On Monday, Senator Chuck Schumer demanded that House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes be replaced. Schumer called on House Speaker Paul Ryan to replace him.

“Without further adieu, Speaker Ryan should replace Chairman Nunes,” Schumer said on the Senate floor. “If Speaker Ryan wants the House to have a credible investigation he needs to replace Chairman Nunes.”

“Chairman Nunes is falling down on the job and seems to be more interested in protecting the president than in seeking the truth. You cannot have the person in charge of an impartial investigation be partial to one side. It’s an inherent contradiction,” Schumer added.

Schumer’s call for Nunes to be removed comes on the same day that it was revealed that Nunes secretly went to the White House the day before he announced that he had seen intelligence that showed incidental collection of Trump transition officials.
