Maddow Crushes Fox And CNN For Third Straight Week
The Rachel Maddow Show is clearly on a ratings roll. For the Third straight week, Maddow’s show was the most-watched cable news show in the coveted 25 to 54-year-old demo. The three-week win is the first time since December of 2012 that Maddow has wone the ratings race.
Rachel Maddow averaged 678,000 viewers for her 9 p.m. show for the week of March 20, while Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson, which also airs at 9 p.m., came in second with an average of 629,000 viewers.
And on Friday, March 24, the day Republicans were failed to pass their Obamacare repeal bill Maddow’s shoe earned a total of 3.058 million total viewers making it the most-watched cable news show. On same day, Fox New’s Bill O’Reilly had 2.363 million viewers while MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell had 2.328 million viewers.
According to MSNBC, The Rachel Maddow Show’s total audience was up +106% over March 2016, while CNN was flat (+3%) and FOX News was up +11%. And in the A25-54 demo, The Rachel Maddow Show grew +103% year-over-year, besting CNN (+14%) – attaining its biggest lead over CNN since February 2014 – and FOX News (+18%).
