Congresswoman Maxine Waters on Tuesday evening responded to Bill O’Reilly’s racist comments about her appearance. Speaking with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, Waters said of O’Reilly “I’m a strong, black woman,” she told host Chris Hayes. “I cannot be intimidated. I cannot be undermined. I cannot be thought to be afraid of Bill O’Reilly or anybody.”
“Don’t allow these right-wing talking heads, these dishonorable people, to intimidate or scare you. Be who you are and do what you do,” Waters continued.
Then she took a shot at O’Reilly and his former boss Roger Allies for having previously been sued for sexual harassment.
“When a woman stands up and speaks truth to power, there will be attempts to put her down,” Waters added. “And so I’m not going to be put down. I’m not going to go anywhere. I’m going to stay on the issues.”
