Mike Flynn Failed To Disclose Payments From Russian Firms: Report
Disgraced former national security adviser failed to disclose at least $45,000 in income from state-sponsored Russia Today news network.
According to a new report, Michael Flynn failed to disclose income he received from a state-sponsored Russian firm in his ethics disclosure forms.
The Daily Beast first report that Flynn “submitted a financial disclosure form in February that made no mention of a reported $45,000 payment from Russia Today, or RT, for a speech that Flynn gave at the network’s 10th anniversary gala.”
Flynn was forced to resign after it was revealed that he has inappropriate communications with the Russian ambassador then lied about those conversations.
The FBI is currently investigating whether Trump campaign associates, of which Flynn was a key member, colluded with Russia in intervening in the election.
On Thursday, Michael Flynn’s attorney announced that Flynn was seeking immunity in exchange for his testimony on the Russia scandal. Thus far, the House, Senate and FBI have not taken Flynn up on his offer.
Russia Today, or RT, is a state-sponsored propaganda arm of the Russian government.
Flynn as since submitted amended financial disclosure forms that include the payments from Russian firms. According to The Daily Beast, “Flynn’s amended disclosure statement reveals payments for speeches to two additional Russian companies, cybersecurity firm Kaspersky and Volga Dnepr Airlines. Neither of those payments was disclosed in Flynn’s initial ethics filing.”
