McCain: Nunes ‘Killed’ Bipartisanship of Russia Investigation
Senator John McCain on Sunday blasted fellow Republican Devin Nunes for killing the bipartisanship of the House Intelligence Committee.
John McCain said on Sunday that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes “killed” the bipartisan nature of the investigation into Russian’s intervention into the 2016 election. “If we’re really going to get to the bottom of these things, it’s got to be done in a bipartisan fashion,” McCain said on ABC’s This Week.
“And as far as I could tell, Congressman Nunes killed that.” McCain also added that it’s “for the good of the security of the nation and the men and women who serve us.”
Nunes has faced criticism for sneaking away to the White House in the middle of the night to review materials prepared by Trump staffers then making a public spectacle the next day by going to the White House and pretending to inform the White House of the information they had given him.
It was also reported that the night that Nunes went to the White House, he switched cars and ditched his staffers in order to conceal his activities.
