Pressure Mounts At Fox News As 51 Advertisers Pull Out Of Bill O’Reilly’s Show
51 compannies have pulled advertising from “The O’Reilly Factor” after several women accuse Bill O’Reilly of sexual harrasment.
After a report by the New York Times that Fox News and Bill O’Reilly had paid out millions in settlements to five women who charged O’Reilly with sexual harassment, the pressure is mounting at Fox News as more advertisers pull their budgets from “The O’Reilly Factor.”
51 companies have announced that they are pulling their ads from O’Reilly’s show.
This is not the first time that Fox News has faced allegations of sexual harassment. The revelations about Bill O’Reilly come after a disturbingly similar scandal rocked Fox News when it came to light that longtime Fox News chief Roger Ailes had sexually harassed and abused employees and Fox News contributors. The scandal eventually led to Ailes being forced out of the network and Fox News reportedly spent millions to settle those cases.
Critics are calling for a full internal investigation at Fox News, saying that the issue of sexual harassment is systemic at the network.
