There Are 3 Big Anti-Trump Marches Coming Up In April

If it feels like it’s been a while since we had a good old fashion anti-protest, well not to worry because there are three major anti-Trump marches scheduled over the next two weeks.

1. Tax Day March – April 15

The Tax Day March is basically what it sounds like: a protest on tax day calling on Donald Trump to release his taxes. Here is what the Tax March organizers say about rallies:

“This is not just about his tax returns. President Trump needs to be straight with the American people. To whom does he owe favors? Who are his policies really intended to benefit? Who will he put first? Working families are struggling to make ends meet, but we pay our fair share in taxes – does Donald Trump pay any at all?

“We, the American people, are standing together with a common belief in the value of transparency in government, fairness in taxation, and the value of our Constitution. We will march together against any forces — corporate or political — that oppose it.”

Important Details: The Tax March will be taking place in Washington DC and in cities all around the country on April 15. Major satellite marches will take place in NYC, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

2. March For Science – April 22

As a candidate, Donald Trump called climate change a Chinese hoax and as president, Donald Trump has proposed crippling cuts to the EPA and other environmental work the government does.
And in response, a group of concerned scientists has organized a march to build a “broad, nonpartisan, and diverse coalition of organizations and individuals who stand up for science. We are advocating for evidence-based policymaking, science education, research funding, and inclusive and accessible science.”
In a statement, the organizers said, “Science and scientists, and evidence based policies are under attack. Policymakers threaten our present and future by ignoring scientific evidence when crafting policy, threatening scientific advancement through budget cuts, and limiting the public’s knowledge by silencing scientists. On April 22, scientists and science supporters will unite worldwide to protest these actions.”
Important Details: The March for Science, will take place in Washingon DC and over 425 other cities.

3. People’s Climate March – April 29

The original People’s Climate March took place in 2014 and now that we are in the Trump-era another march is very much needed. And while the original march was in New York City,  this year’s will be in Washington DC.

Here is what the organizers said about the march: “Trump’s game plan has been to relentlessly attack our communities and shock us into despair. It hasn’t worked because our people-powered movement is stronger than he is—together, the resistance stopped his attempts to overturn the Affordable Care Act and stymied his despicable Muslim ban. Together, we are going to do the same thing to his attacks on our climate, our air, and our water.”

Important Details: The People’s Climate March will take place in Washington DC on April 29.
