Secret Service Has Paid Trump More Than $35,000 For Golf Cart Rentals: Report
Much has been said about Donald Trump’s frequent golf trips and weekend vacations in Florida. People have questioned Trump’s work ethic and commitment to the job of being president. Others have pointed out the clear hypocrisy of Trump doing more golfing than Obama, Bush and Clinton combined at this point in his presidency when he was so vocal about President Obama’s golfing.
But we are now getting some insight into how much Trump’s golf habit is costing taxpayers.
According to a CBS News report, the Secret Service has paid Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort more than $35,000 since Donald Trump was inaugurated. CBS News reviewed invoices that showed $35,185 in golf cart rentals from Trump’s many visits to Florida.
In addition, CBS reported that the Secret Service has also paid $64,000 for “Elevator services,” at Trump Tower.
CBS also noted that each time Donald Trump takes a trip to Mar-a-Lago, it costs taxpayers about $700,000 just to fly down to Florida.
This isn’t about the president taking time to unwind, nobody would begrudge him that. This is about Donald Trump forcing taxpayers to pay for his family’s excessive lifestyle.
