Flynn’s Lobbying Work For Turkey Connected To Russia: Report

Flynn’s Turkey lobbying work linked to Russia and worked directly with Putin.

Former national security adviser Mike Flynn’s work as a paid foreign agent on behalf of Turkish interests was arranged by a man with deep ties to Russian and Vladimir Putin.

Politico reported Tuesday that, “The Turkish man who gave Mike Flynn a $600,000 lobbying deal just before President Donald Trump picked him to be national security adviser has business ties to Russia, including a 2009 aviation financing deal negotiated with Vladimir Putin, according to court records.”

And according to the same report, the same man also helped “a Soviet-born former executive in Russian energy and mining companies who also has had dealings with Putin’s government, according to three people with direct knowledge of the activities.”

Turkey’s president has grown increasingly authoritarian and developed closer ties to Putin. And the hiring of Flynn by Alptekin came at a time when Flynn was working for Trump’s campaign and Putin’s government was under investigation for interfering with the U.S. election,” Politico noted.

After reports that Flynn had improperly reported his work as a foreign agent Flynn was forced to file new paperwork in March admitting that his lobbying work “principally benefitted” the Turkish government.

This new revelation is a previously unreported Russia connection.

Flynn, through his lawyer, has asked for immunity in exchange for testimony.
