Keith Olbermann: It Sure Looks Like a Russian Cover-Up
It’s not the crime…it’s the cover-up.
In a new episode of his web series “The Resistance,” Keith Olberman makes the case that we are witnessing an active cover-up of the Russia scandal by Trump and associates.
Olbermann opens his segment with a quote of Carl Bernstein who said on CNN a few days ago that there is a belief within the FBI that there is an active cover-up taking place by the White House. “There is serious belief in the FBI and in the congressional committees of the House and the Senate, that there here is an active cover-up going on involving, trying to keep investigators from finding out what happened in terms of the Trump campaign and Trump associates, near the top of the campaign and what happened in their associations with Russians,” Berstein said.
Olbermann also noted that while being right about Watergate doesn’t automatically make him right about Trump-Russia, but it certainly gets his reporting the benefit of the doubt.
He also made the point that Nixon didn’t get forced out of office because of the Watergate break-in but because of the Watergate cover-up. Olbermann noted that this is the case with most other major political scandals.
