Pelosi: ‘Trump’s Tax Plan Is Short On Details And Long On Giveaways To Big Corporations And Billionaires’
Donald Trump’s proposed tax plan is not being received well, especially by Democrats. And that might have something to do with the fact that it’s a giant giveaway to the wealthy.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi slammed Trump’s tax scam plan as nothing more than “The same Trickle Down Economics that undermined the middle class.”
Donald Trump is not a details guy, which is why rather than release a full plan he opted for just a one-pager with some bullets. But and Nancy Pelosi also noted that the few details we know about the Trump plan confirm that it will “overwhelmingly cut taxes for the richest and do little for middle class Americans and those trying to get there.”
Here is the full statement from Nancy Pelosi on the Trump tax plan:
Pelosi Statement on President Trump’s Tax Plan Outline
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the White House released the outline of President Trump’s tax plan:
“The same Trickle Down Economics that undermined the middle class are alive and well in the President’s tax plan. True to form, President Trump’s tax plan is short on details and long on giveaways to big corporations and billionaires.
“Instead of focusing on hard-working families as he promised, President Trump’s tax outline is a wish list for billionaires. What few details are here overwhelmingly cut taxes for the richest and do little for middle class Americans and those trying to get there. Besides which, nowhere does President Trump indicate how his deficit-exploding tax plan will actually be paid for.
“America cannot afford a Republican tax plan that hands multi-billion dollar tax breaks to the richest on the backs of the middle class. There is room for bipartisan tax reform, but it must be fiscally-responsible and it must not come at the expense of hard-working Americans.”
