Republicans Still Exempting Themselves From Their Own Health Bill

GOP health bill good enough for American people not members of Congress.

Republicans in the House are charging ahead full speed to pass their Obamacare repeal bill despite the giant wave of criticism that has come in response to the bill. However, Republicans have been careful to exempt their own health care from their crappy bill.

Vox reports that despite promises to correct the error the Republican bill still exempts members of Congress from losing their coverage.

“House Republicans appear to have included a provision that exempts members of Congress and their staff from their latest health care plan,” Vox noted.

Republicans were called out on April 25 for exempting themselves from their own bill and promised to make the change, however, the change never came.

UPDATE: “After Vox reported this story, Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-N.J.) released a statement saying he would close this loophole. Read the story here. The fix, however, will be contained in separate legislation and not offered as part of the American Health Care Act.”
