Deputy Attorney General Demanded Trump Correct The Record: Report

Trump forced to correct the record about Comey firing after Deputy Attorney General threatens to quit.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein demanded that the White House correct the record regarding his role in the firing of FBI Director James Comey, according to a new report.  The White House had originally claimed the new Deputy Attorney General who was behind the firing.

According to a new report in the Wall Street Journal, Rosenstein was upset with the Trump administration and demanded they correct the record.

The Wall Street Journal also seemed to confirm an earlier report that Rosenstein threatened to resign over the issue.

One of the prime sources of Rosenstein’s frustration was that White House aides reiterating that Comey’s firing was in response to a Justice Department recommendation.

During an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt Donald Trump said he was going to fire Comey regardless of what the Justice Department recommended.
