Just 23 Percent Of Americans Support The Republican Health Care Plan

A new poll finds almost no support for the Republican health bill.

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that only 23 percent of Americans think the Republican health care plan is a good idea.

NBC News reported that “By a two-to-one margin, Americans say that the health-care legislation that was recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives and supported by President Trump is a bad idea instead of a good idea.”

Republicans in the House passed their Obamacare repeal bill on May 4 by a narrow 217-213 majority.

The poll also found a large divide along party lines. But even among Republicans, only 52 percent support the bill, while 77 percent of Democrats think it’s a bad idea. And among independents, 44 percent think it’s a bad idea and 18 percent say it’s a good idea.

About the poll: The NBC/WSJ poll was conducted May 11-13 of 800 adults – including nearly half by cell phone – and it has an overall margin of error of plus-minus 3.5 percentage points.
