European Official Warns His Country May Stop Sharing Intelligence With U.S.
More fallout after Trump leak of highly classified information to Russians.
A European intelligence official has warned that his country may stop sharing intelligence with the United States after news broke that Donald Trump shared highly classified information with the Russians, according to a new report.
The official said sharing information “could be a risk for our sources,” according to a new report by the Associated Press.
The AP reported, “A senior European intelligence official tells The Associated Press that his country might stop sharing information with the United States if it confirms President Donald Trump shared classified details with Russian officials.”
According to a report by the Washington post on Monday, Donald Trump revealed highly classified intelligence information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador during a meeting in the Oval office last week.
Current and former U.S. officials told the Washington Post that Donald Trump shared information from a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
The classified information that Trump shared with the Russians was provided to the U.S. by a partner through an intelligence sharing arrangement and according to the report, the partner did not give the United States permission to share the information with Russia.
Multiple press reports indicate that the Trump White House was in chaos after the bombshell revelation Monday night. White House reporters could hear shouting coming from the Cabinet Room where Steve Bannon and the rest of Trump’s senior communications staff were meeting.
