Bombshell report reveals that Trump purposely put nations security at risk to hire Flynn.
Donald Trump knew that Michael Flynn was under investigation when he hired him to be his national security adviser. In fact, not only did Trump know but he actually pressured Flynn to accept the job, despite Flynn’s reluctance.
According to a new report, Donald Trump was “determined to have him as national security adviser anyway.”
The Daily Beast report quoted a friend of Flynn saying the following: “He did not want to be National Security Adviser. He didn’t want to be in the government. He wanted to go back to private life. But Trump insisted on it.”
The report that Donald Trump not only knew of Flynn’s clear conflicts and security concerns but that he also pressured him to take the national security adviser job raise major questions about Donald Trump’s judgment and fitness to lead.
Flynn was under FBI investigation for accepting payments from foreign governments and not reporting them during the campaign.
Trump wants Flynn back in the administration
The Daily Beast report also notes that Donald Trump not only regrets firing Flynn but also wants to hire Flynn back if the investigation ends. The report quotes a White House official saying, “Trump feels really, really, really, bad about firing him, and he genuinely thinks if the investigation is over Flynn can come back.”
White House lawyers have repeatedly warned Trump against contacting Flynn, however, a new report by Yahoo News reveals that Trump has in fact been communicating with Flynn a recently as a month ago.
Trump’s message to Flynn – “stay strong.”
Trump’s contacting of Flynn, the firing of James Comey and the revelation that he told Comey to drop the investigation into Flynn raise the possibility of obstruction of justice and witness tampering charges against Trump.
