Flynn Lied To Investigators When Renewing Security Clearance
Michael Flynn Just Got Busted Lying On Security Clearance Forms.
The ranking member of the House Oversight Committee Elijah Cummings says he has proof that Michael Flynn lied on his paperwork to renew his security clearance.
Cummings sent a letter Monday to Republican Jason Chaffetz saying that the Committee has documents “that appear to indicate” Flynn lied during his security clearance interview in ’16.

According to the New York Times, Flynn “misled Pentagon investigators about his income from Russian companies and contacts with Russian officials when he applied for a top-secret security clearance last year, according to a letter released Monday by the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.”
Flynn’s lie to federal investigators could result in up to five years of prison time.
“Lawmakers had previously asserted that Mr. Flynn had failed to disclose the income he had received for the Moscow trip to obtain security clearance to work in the White House, but the letter released on Monday shows he had misled investigators during a previous attempt to renew his clearance, months before Mr. Trump won election,” the New York Times notes.
Earlier in the day, through his lawyer, Flynn announced that he would invoke the Fifth Amendment and not comply with the Senate Intelligence Committee’s subpoena for documents.
The news that Flynn misled the Pentagon in his paperwork for renewing security clearance is just the latest in a series of bombshell reports about the Trump-Russia scandal.
