Former CIA Head Just Confirmed Contact Between Trump Campaign And Russia
During Congressional testimony on Tuesday, former CIA Director John Brennan told lawmakers that he had seen intelligence showing that people involved in Donald Trump’s campaign had contacts with Russian officials that “concerned” him.
“But I know that there was a sufficient basis of information and intelligence that required further investigation by the bureau to determine whether U.S. persons were actively colluding,” Brennan said.
Director Brennan said that the intelligence concerned him and that he referred the matter to the FBI for review. “I know that there was a sufficient basis of information and intelligence that required further investigation by the FBI.”
“We were uncovering intelligence about contacts between U.S. persons and the Russians,” Brennan continued. “As we came upon that, we would share it with the bureau.”
