New Poll Has Some Really Bad News For Donald Trump
A new Quinnipiac University released Wednesday finds some troubling news for Donald Trump.
According to the poll, a majority of Americans think Donald Trump is abusing the powers of the office. 54 percent say Trump is abusing power, while 43 percent say he is not.
And Trump’s job approval continues to be historically low. The new poll found that just 37 percent of those surveyed approve of Trump and 55 percent say they disapprove of Trump’s job performance.
The poll also found that a strong majority of Americans, 55 percent, think Trump fired FBI Director James Comey to disrupt the investigation into possible ties between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.
That number is important as evidence of obstruction of justice continues to be revealed and Congress contemplates how to proceed.
The poll also found that voters disapprove of Comey’s firing 54 percent to 36 percent. With 49 percent saying it was an abuse of power.
Voters also aren’t buying Trump’s claim that he didn’t ask Comey to drop the Flynn investigation. The poll found that 55 percent say Trump asked Comey to drop the investigation.
