How Trumpcare Will Increase The Price Of Health Insurance For Elderly Americans
By now you’ve likely heard that Congressional Budget Office released its analysis of the Republican health bill that passed the House a few weeks ago. And you’ve also probably heard how devastating it will be for the 23 million Americans who will lose their insurance.
But one of the items that didn’t get as much reporting is how much the Republican Obamacare repeal bill will increase the price of insurance, particularly for elderly, low-income Americans.
Under the Republican plan, a 64-year-old making $26,000 a year will see their insurance premiums go from $1,700 under Obamacare to $16,100 under the Republican plan.
And it’s not just elderly Americans that see their insurance cost go up, a 40-year-old American would see their insurance premium almost double from $1,700 under Obamacare to $2,900.
A new poll found that just 20 percent of Americans support the Republican health bill. And among independents, only 17 percent support the bill.
