Trump Campaign Didn’t Save Campaign Documents
It keeps getting worse and worse…
According to a Politico report, the Trump campaign likely did not keep any documents and communications that are key to the Russian investigation.
This report comes after the Senate Intelligence Committee demanded Trump campaign to overturn all their documents.
“You’d be giving us too much credit,” the former aide told Politico. “The idea of document retention did not come up. The idea of some formal structure did not come up.”
Presidential campaigns typically are not required to preserve emails after 30 to 90 days.
However, in March, the Associated Press reported, “White House lawyers have instructed the president’s aides to preserve materials that could be connected to Russian interference in the 2016 election and other related investigations.”
In addition to emails and other campaign materials, it was uncovered yesterday that the Trump campaign could face jail time for using auto-delete messaging apps.
