Special Counsel May Expand Investigation To Include Jeff Sessions
The Special Counsel Investigation Just Got Way, Way Bigger!
Buried in the bombshell Associated Press report Friday that Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation has expanded to include Paul Manafort is a potentially even bigger bombshell item.
The Associated Press report notes that the quickly expanding investigation may expand to include Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
It was revealed in recent days that Congress is currently investigating a third undisclosed meeting between Sessions and the Russian ambassador.
During his Senate confirmation hearing, Sessions lied under oath about meetings with the Russian ambassador and later left those meetings off of his security clearance forms.
“Last month, House Democrats called for congressional investigations into whether Sessions violated his pledge to recuse himself from matters related to investigations into Trump associates. They also asked the Justice Department to investigate Sessions’ role in Comey’s firing and to lay out how that investigation would proceed,” the Associated Press noted in their report.
On Friday evening MSNBC also noted the possibility that Sessions could be wrapped up in the Special Counsel’s investigation.
The AP report confirmed that Paul Manafort is now part of the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. And earlier in the day we learned that Micheal Flynn is also part of the investigation.
