Trump White House Instructing Agencies To Ignore Democrat’s Requests

Donald Trump is undermining congressional oversight by instructing agencies to ignore oversight requests from Democrats.

The move poses a separation of powers and checks and balances issue but also raises questions about what Trump is trying to hide from Democrats in Congress.

The story that the White House was instructing agencies not to respond to Democrats requests was first reported by Politico.

“At meetings with top officials for various government departments this spring, Uttam Dhillon, a White House lawyer, told agencies not to cooperate with such requests from Democrats, according to Republican sources inside and outside the administration,” the Politico report noted.

The purpose of the stonewalling effort is specifically meant to prevent Democrats from finding information they can use against the Trump administration politically.

Obviously, all information that agencies have belongs to the American people and not the White House.
