Donald Trump Is Thinking About Firing Special Counsel Mueller (Video)

The CEO of the conservative news outlet Newsmax and close friend of Donald Trump Chirs Ruddy reported Monday that Trump is considering firing Special Counsel Mueller.
Ruddy told PBS Newshour’s Judy Woodruff the Trump is “considering perhaps terminating” Robert Mueller as special counsel in the Russia investigation.
“I personally think it would be a very significant mistake,” Ruddy continued, “even though I don’t think there’s a justification … for a special counsel.”
The news that Trump is contemplating the firing of the Special Counsel comes after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey who was leading the investigation into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Ruddy’s remarks come as allies of Donald Trump have begun a coordinated campaign of undermining confidence in Special Counsel Mueller.
Congressman Adam Schiff responded via Twitter saying: “If President fired Bob Mueller, Congress would immediately re-establish independent counsel and appoint Bob Mueller. Don’t waste our time.”
