Republican Satisfaction With Direction Of The Country Is Dropping: Poll
New Poll Has Troubling Data For Trump And Republicans.
Democrats aren’t the only ones unhappy with the direction of the country under the Trump administration.
According to new polling data from Gallup, Republicans are increasingly unhappy with the direction the country is headed.
Republican satisfaction took its biggest fall between May and June since Trump took office. According to Gallup, the satisfaction rate of Republicans fell from 58 percent in May to 41 percent in June – a massive 17 point drop.
As you can see from the graph, Republican satisfaction increased significantly around the time of Trump’s inauguration but just four months later it’s starting to fall dramatically.
Expectedly, satisfaction among Democrats and independents has also fallen.
The drop in satisfaction among Republicans could spell trouble for Trump as numerous mounting crises threaten to bring down his administration.
Until now, Trump has benefited from strong support from Republicans. A drop in support from his own party could have significant consequences for Trump on Capitol Hill.
The drop in satisfaction coincides with the testimony of James Comey and the revelation that Trump pressured the former FBI Director to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn.
